Chief Ladiga Trail

The Chief Ladiga Trail is Alabama’s first and longest rail-trail, stretching from downtown Anniston to the Georgia state line. At the border it links directly with Georgia’s Silver Comet Trail, giving riders nearly 90 miles of continuous paved path.

Pinhoti Pizza Company sits just off the trail in downtown Piedmont – the perfect spot to refuel in the middle of a day ride or on a multi-day adventure.

Pinhoti Trail

The Pinhoti Trail winds through Alabama and Georgia’s Appalachian foothills, linking forested ridges, rocky overlooks, and wild streams. The route runs just outside of Piedmont, crossing the same landscape you can see from town.

Many hikers use Piedmont as a resupply town and treat themselves to hot pizza, salads, and ice cream at Pinhoti Pizza before heading back into the woods.

Terrapin Creek

Terrapin Creek flows just outside of Piedmont and is a favorite for paddlers across the region. Clear water, gentle shoals, and beautiful scenery make it ideal for families, first-timers, and relaxed float trips.

Local outfitters provide kayak and tube rentals, shuttles, and all the basics you need for a day on the water. When you pull off the creek, swing back through town for pizza, wings, or ice cream to finish your adventure.
